For this week’s assignment, review the Hocevar and Jaklic (2010) article, “Assessing Benefits of Business Intelligence Systems – A Case Study,” and discuss the need for business intelligence and analytics in support of managerial decision making. Examine some of the foundations and key issues of managerial decision making, including how companies can determine the success of their business intelligence and decision support systems.

Explain the potential benefits of business intelligence and decision support systems.
Examine some of the foundations and key issues of managerial decision making.
Evaluate how companies can measure the success of their business intelligence and decision support systems and the challenges of these measurements.
Based on the case study, briefly describe the evaluation of on-line analytical process (OLAP) benefits discussed by Hocevar and Jaklic (2010).
