In this paper, I will use the Finder Keepers Company that produces designed clothes and shoes whose current problem is that they have a basic website that is very limited for the customers. Customers are currently not able to purchase products from the website unless they physically visit the store. For the business to grow and easily fulfill customer’s needs, Finder Keepers organization must focus on streamlining their e-business. That is why they should adopt the latest technology to improve customer satisfaction and increase their overall sales. (Sax, M. 2016).Two technologies
The first technology is the implementation of intelligent systems; this will allow Finder Keepers he collect and analyze information from other sources. This will involve coming up with the right software that will be used to analyses their stock and help them in shipping their products.
The second technology is mobile computing and mobile commerce implementation: this will be an appropriate way where clients will be allowed to create their private online accounts, they will also be able to download applications and install them on the smartphone, IPad and computers. The application will be automatically able to process PayPal payments, credit and debit cards. The business requirements. The objectives
The main objectives will involve making vigorous changes to the current organization’s website where it will be made more friendly to the customers and allow them to make online purchases. It is important to note that Finder Keepers has a current website which is not fully functional since items are only displayed but customers are not able to make direct purchases. The website will also be integrated with an intelligent system which will inform the company; what customers are preferring to but more, which items are currently in stock and the number of sales being made. (Kirzner, I. M. 2019)The project description
For this objective to be fully achieved, we must come up with a research on the best software that will integrate Finder Keepers operations and their customer shopping trends. A good example is where there will be communication that will give data on sales reports and their inventories. There is also a need to expand the website where clients will have several opportunities to choose items and make purchases thus making it friendlier. When these two technologies are fully implemented, the revenues and brand loyalty to Finder Keepers is going to increase gradually. The technological requirements
When mobile computing and commerce will be appropriately implemented in Finder Keepers Company, the customers will be able to make a direct and easier purchase of items which will be delivered at their doorsteps. This will be easier and less expensive when compared to having to travel to physical stores when it is open.Competitors and technology
In order for Finder Keepers Company to keep its customers and compete favorably, it has to adopt these technologies, there are several competitors of Finder Keepers Company which include Monki and Ragged Priest. The two companies have adopted these technologies to ensure that customers are able to make purchases from anywhere in the world. The two companies are able to sell their clothing and shoes at relatively lower prices which have attracted more customers. People are able to install mobile applications of the two companies, they then browse and make direct purchases. Monki and Ragged priest accepts a variety of payment methods such as PayPal, debit and credit cards. Their applications are very secure thus customers are confident when creating accounts. The other way that Ragged Priest, and Monki have attracted more customers is by allowing a free 14-day return period to their nearest retail shop it products delivered do not meet their requirements. (Safieddine, F. 2017).
Princess Highway is the second competitor to Finder Keepers which has online platforms that allow the customers to communicate directly with the company. Princess highway has tens of thousands of products that are ready for online sale when customers require them. The company uses comprehensive catalogue items and machine intelligence on their search engines where after searching, each item is awarded a score to understand which product each customer prefers the most. This ensures that customers find the products they require within the shortest time from a range of products which has led to an increase in their overall sales. The first technology: mobile computing and commerce
When it comes to the implementation of mobile computing and commerce, Ragged Priest Company has implemented this technology appropriately. This technology is used to ensure that they provide convenient ways to buy products which are then delivered directly at their doorsteps. All that the clients require to do it download a mobile application. Ragged Priest Company also has a website which allows customers to browse and navigate through their products easily. The second technology: having intelligent systems
Princess Highway is the second competitor to Finder Keepers which used an intelligent system which involves using external and internet host where their data does not have to be stored locally. By Princess Highway having a cloud storage system, it allows them to operate efficiently and save on overall storage costs. Princess highway is also able to analyze customer searches and remind them in future which has increased their overall sales. (Eeuwen, M. V. 2017).The technological benefits
According to what I have learnt from my research in Princess highway and Ragged Priest, the two companies have been performing extemporary due to integration of mobile computing and commerce in their operations. By coming up with a mobile application, the companies become user friendly and allow customers to easily navigate. This has allowed them to make more purchases which generates revenue and profits to the companies. For Finder Keepers Company to be successful, they must apply the same technology instead of only displaying items on their website where customers have to visit their shops to make a purchase. This technology will satisfy their clients, increase sales and make the organization to be more flexible. (Chen, M. H. 2017).Technological solutions
For any retail company, mobile commerce is very important, people will be simply able to install applications, create an account and browse through products that are available for sales. The company is going to accept payments from PayPal, credit or debit cards. These products will be shipped to the preferred location of the customer at relatively lower prices. The company will also be able to advertise its products through various social media websites for more convenience and flexibility.
Using intelligence technologies will also be very important for Finder Keepers Company. Example, the company will use cloud computing for easier storage of customer’s account information. The customers will also be able to search for information fasters since there will be recommendations after their previous search data. (Chen, M. H. 2017).Recommendations
Even though e-commerce and cloud storage is not enough to solve business problems and issues, it will steer the company to the next level. It is going to improve how people access the company and make their shopping rather than having to physically travel to the store. Thus my recommendation to the Finder Keepers Company are:
- Come up with mobile applications that allow an easier search of information and purchase.
- Allow a 14-day free return of customer’s goods that do not meet their specification.
- Process different payment methods such as credit and debit cards.
- Come up with intelligence systems that store customer’s browsing history for easier item identification in future.
- Develop a 24-hour customer service to address various issues raised by clients.
Basic security considerations
With these recommendations put in place, security measures have to be implemented to ensure that the client’s information is always secure. The first security consideration is having a firewall which will keep away potential hackers from accessing the system. The computer system will also be secured with an antivirus program which will protect the computers from virus-infected files and programs. There will be an antimalware program which will be used for identification of files and emails that contains malware. To protect user account information, login information will be kept confidential. (Sankaranarayanan, S. 2016).Internal safeguards
To protect the company from misuse and loss of data, the company will be monitoring actions of the users concerning the actions that they took after logging into the system. When computers are not being used, they will be always locked thus not allowing other people to access them. Lastly is that passwords will be changed after four months for every user to enhance security.References
