Individuals with ASD also have difficulty in understanding and interpreting figurative and inferential language. Stereotypic, repetitive, and ritualistic behaviors are included in behavioral excesses. Furthermore, behavioral excesses also include overindulgence in limited activities and .interests and extreme intolerance towards environmental changes. Individuals with ASD also exhibit inflexible attention towards nonfunctional routines and exhibit certain characteristic behaviors such as pica, self-injurious behaviors, tantrums, and self-stimulatory behaviors.
